Or AED 3,000 plus employer-provided accommodation (formally documented in the labour contract).

Wife sponsoring husband

AED 10,000/mo

Dependent parents

AED 20,000/mo

Standard route, or AED 10,000 via the GDRFA humanitarian route. Both parents must be sponsored together.

Apostille is not accepted in the UAE

The single most common cause of family visa delays. Marriage & birth certificates need full embassy legalisation, attested in the country of issue, by the UAE mission there, then by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Allow 4–6 weeks for the country-of-origin steps.

The process

How the family visa process works

Five stages, fully coordinated by Auxilium from pre-check through Emirates ID.

Pre-check

We review salary, residency, accommodation & family documents against current criteria.

Attestation

Full embassy legalisation plus UAE MOFA, the step that delays most applications.

Entry permit

Issued first if the dependent is overseas, valid 60 days to enter the UAE.

Medical & biometrics

Medical fitness for 18+ and biometrics for all. Under-18s exempt from the medical.

Residency & ID

Digital residency issued, Emirates ID processed. 2–4 weeks once attested.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about sponsoring your family in the UAE.

How much salary do I need to sponsor my family?
Spouse & children: AED 4,000/month (or AED 3,000 + accommodation). Wife sponsoring husband: AED 10,000/month. Parents: AED 20,000/month standard, or AED 10,000 via the humanitarian route. We confirm the exact figure for your case at pre-check.
Can a wife sponsor her husband in the UAE?
Yes. Female residents can sponsor their husband and children regardless of profession (old restrictions removed). The threshold is AED 10,000/month plus an attested marriage certificate, accommodation in the wife's name, and ICP approval.
Do I need to attest my marriage and birth certificates?
Yes, and apostille alone is not accepted. You need full embassy legalisation, then attestation at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Documents not in English or Arabic must be translated by a UAE-approved legal translator. Start this 4–6 weeks before your move.
What happens if my baby is born in the UAE?
Newborns must be added to the sponsor's file within 120 days of birth, fines apply from day 121. The standard documents apply plus the UAE birth certificate. We can handle the full newborn registration for you.
