Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the UAE Remote Work Visa.

Does the Remote Work Visa lead to a Golden Visa?
No. It's a self-sponsored one-year residency and doesn't feed into the Golden Visa track. The Golden Visa is a separate pathway with different criteria, we can advise on it separately if relevant.
Can I work for UAE-based companies on this visa?
No. This visa permits work only for employers or clients based outside the UAE. Taking UAE-based employment is a violation that can result in fines, cancellation and deportation. If you get a UAE job offer, speak to us about switching categories.
Can I leave the UAE for extended periods?
Yes, but the visa is invalidated if you spend more than 6 consecutive months outside the UAE. Frequent shorter trips are fine. Speak to us before any longer absence.
Do I pay UAE income tax on my overseas salary?
The UAE has no personal income tax for residents. The visa alone doesn't grant tax residency (that needs 183+ days and a Tax Residency Certificate). Always check your home-country rules with a qualified adviser before relocating.
